I want to feel warm. Up in Broome it has been 32 degrees each day but in Melbourne at the moment it is winter and it is cold – the coldest winter in 26 years. I keep thinking about this time last year when Lyn and I were in Greece. It was warm there and we wore shorts, T-shirts and sandals the whole time. We swam nearly every day in the Aegean.
On Mykonos we stayed in an excellent apartment called Panthea Residence at Agios Ioannis. This is a bit out of Mykonos Town which suited us as Mykonos is very much a party island. Nevertheless, I did like wandering the labyrinth of streets of the old town at night taking pictures of young people having a great time.
One day Steve hired a yacht. We sailed to the island of Delos to see the ruins, then to the skipper’s old home on the island of Rhenia. His fisherman family once lived in this cottage for generations. In a shaded barbeque area at the cottage, he and his family grilled sea bass and octopus over hot coals for us. We ate this with wonderful Greek salad and drank Greek white wine. Simply superb!
So here are a few shots that make me feel warmer. I have added a Greek section to the galleries/places area which you can see here.
New Server, New Galleries
This is the first post on my revamped blog which has been transferred to my son Michael’s server at mpe consulting in London. It uses the domain name of my old website, ellisphotography.com.au. An extra gallery has been added and more can be expected in the future. Note that there has been the addition of “Books” which links to the Blurb website. Here you can browse two of my self-published books. I recommend using full screen mode for this.
If you like anything on my blog and galleries and you have a Facebook page, it would help me to show my pictures to a wider audience if you clicked on the Facebook and Share buttons that are throughout the site.
